The judicial subcommittees in the House and Senate are considering a concurrent resolution which would commend swimmer Mark Spitz for winning seven gold medals at the Munich Olympiad and the entire American team for its athletic performance in the 20th Olympiad. The resolution was introduced by Sen. Alan Cranston (D. Calif) and Rep. John E. Moss (D. Calif) who represents the district in California where Spits makes his home. Spitz lives in Carmichael near Sacramento. Joining them as co-sponsors were three fellow California Congressmen and two Senators from Indiana. Spitz, who is Jewish, set world records in the seven events in which he competed in Munich. He is a student at Indiana University.
