Defense Minister Moshe Dayan charged last night that some foreign airlines were paying protection money to Arab terrorists to avoid having their planes hijacked. Replying to questions after addressing the Second International Congress of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, Dayan said “Some airlines are paying sums of money to the terrorists for immunity.” He did not elaborate or name any airline.

NO. U.S. SURRENDER TO OIL PRESSURE

Dayan said he was confident that the United States would not surrender to pressure from the oil producing Arab states to alter its pro-Israel. policy. “The U.S. will not bow to dictation, however thirsty it may be for oil,” he said. Dayan said he was also certain that American will meet in full its promise for arms supplies to Israel. “Thanks to our own arms production and to the supplies we receive from America, Israel can maintain the balance of strength in this region until the end of the present decade,” Dayan said.
