The first synagogue conference in Argentina under the auspices of the Conservative Movement opened here Tuesday at the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary. Participants included representatives of several Ashkenazic and Sephardic temples and congregations in Buenos Aires. Speakers, including Israeli Ambassador Ram Nirgad, expressed concern about violence in Argentine society, and discussed ties with Israel and the role of Jews in national and international affairs.
