The State Department has denied that Israel is exporting to South Africa arms and technology it has acquired from the United States. A reporter asked if the Department is “aware” that Israel is violating U.S. restrictions on such exports. Department spokesman Robert Funseth replied that “Israel has not violated any restrictions” of the transfer clause that is in all U.S. agreements with countries receiving such equipment or technology.

An article in the Aug. 17 Bulletin on the reelection of Benno Milnitzky as president of the Jewish Federation of Brazil incorrectly datelined Buenos Aires, should have been datelined Rio de Janeiro.
