The Shaar Hagal Forest near Jerusalem, which was destroyed by fire and disease, in currently being replanted by the Jewish National Fund. More than 100 acres have already been planted with new saplings, and by the end of March another 75 acres will be planted. The JNF also completed the pavement of a mile-long forest road through the area of the new plantings, providing access for picnicers.
