The National Conference on Soviet Jewry has learned that Soviet Jewish Prisoner of Conscience Mikhail Korenblit has been released from prison. Sentenced to seven years at the second Leningrad trial in May, 1971, Korenblit was charged with “anti-Soviet propaganda and anti-Soviet organization.” He first applied to emigrate to Israel in September, 1969. Korenblit’s wife, Polina, lives in Haifa.
