Shmuel Katz, member of the First Knesset on the Herut ticket and an advisor to Premier Menachem Begin during the early stages of the Likud government, resigned Monday from Herut. About a year ago he resigned from his post as advisor to the Premier because he opposed Begin’s peace policy and the Camp David agreements. Katz said at the time that he would remain in Herut to fight from within. Apparently he became convinced that this cannot be done any more.
