Premier Menachem Begin passed the critical 72 hour period following his “mild heart attack” last Monday and his doctor is satisfied with his progress, according to a report from Hadassah Hospital Friday. Dr. Mervyn Gottesman, who is treating Begin, told reporters that his prognosis is good but he will have to remain in the hospital for 2-3 weeks and in the intensive care unit for several more days.
Gottesman said the latter was not “medically necessary” but advisable because the staff of the unit knows the Premier and the care and monitoring there is especially good.
