The U.S. continued to express concern Monday over the situation in Lebanon where Syrian forces are battling Christian elements. State Department spokesman William Dyess said the continued fighting there was “very disturbing.” He said, however, that as of 11 a.m. EST, the cease-fire that went into effect at 6 a.m. was still holding. Dyess said the U.S. was widening the scope of the parties it was seeking to help bring “the suffering to an end.” But the parties do not include the Palestine Liberation Organization.
