A group of 25 youths from the Hora-Ashkelon Dance Company will embark next week on a month-long tour of Britain. A highlight of the trip will be a series of performances at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival in Scotland. The company, whose repertoire includes a wide variety of Israeli folk dances, will also perform in major Jewish communities in London and Glasgow.

The dance group was formed two years ago in cooperation with the Joint Israel Appeal of Great Britain and Ireland, and performs close to 110 times a year. Its members, between the ages of 16 and 25, are recruited from neighborhoods throughout Ashkelon, including those linked with Britain through Project Renewal.
