The interim cost of living index for the first two weeks of September rose by 2.2 percent, the Central Bureau of Statistics announced Monday. The increase was largely influenced by an increase of up to 30 percent in the prices for fruit and especially vegetables during the first half of the month. Finance Ministry sources expressed satisfaction with the results, saying it indicated the general stability of prices.
