Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian man in the West Bank city of Hebron during a fierce battle with Palestinian gunmen that lasted several hours. At least three other Palestinians, including a three-year-old boy shot in the hand, were wounded in the fighting. A Jewish settler was slightly hurt in the battle, Israeli officials said.
