Israel reportedly is up in arms over a Russian plan to sell missiles to Syria. The Russian newspaper Kommersant reported Wednesday that Russia intends to sell Syria a number of its Iskander-E missiles, which would bring most of Israel into range. Ha’aretz quoted Israeli military officials as saying they fear the missiles could be used by Syria’s proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah.
