Slovakia is toughening its stance against skinheads, neo-Nazis and other extremists after last month’s murder of a college student. Prosecutors suspect the crime was committed by neo-Nazis. If skinheads commit a violent crime, they will automatically be prosecuted for supporting a movement that suppresses rights and freedoms, Interior Minister Vladimir Palko said. The number of racially motivated crimes reported in Slovakia fell over the past four years, from more than 100 in 2002 to 69 this year. There have been several desecrations of Jewish cemeteries.
