Israeli forces killed seven Palestinian gunmen during operations in the central Gaza Strip.

Backed by helicopter gunships, tanks and troops entered Marazi village early Thursday in search of terrorists operating close to the Gaza-Israel border.

Seven Palestinian gunmen, from Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committees, were killed in the ensuing clashes. Five Israeli soldiers were injured, one seriously.

The PRC fired a rocket across the border, hitting the courtyard of a school in the Israeli town of Sderot. Ten children and eight adults were treated for shock.
