Fashion blogger thinks Berlin Holocaust memorial is a great place for a photo shoot

If you’ve been to the Berlin’s Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the one thing you notice is how grey and bare the monuments are, which make some people feel the mournful dreary of Jewish history the monuments symbolize.

But for others, the monument is basically just an awesome backdrop to showcase a cute outfit and hot pink bag.

Fashion blogger Pelayo Dia, who is the face and voice of the boy-blog KateLovesMe.net, took a visit to the Berlin memorial and described the visit as “definitely worth the wait.”

The “concrete blocks trying to reach the sky” were so moving to him, he had to snap some fashionable photos of himself with his Celine bag and Balenciaga shoes.

New York Magazine and Jezebel both remark on how tasteless the photoshoot was, noting that EasyJet had to pull 300,000 copies of their flight magazine in 2009 after they ran an eight page article called “A Quick Guide to the Chic Side of Berlin,” where models posed in between the pillars of the Holocaust memorial.

A representative from the Foundation for the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe told the Guardian in 2009 that projects in the memorial were only allowed if they have “a connection to the memorial, the Holocaust or some aspect of commemoration.”– Dia probably does not read the Guardian.
