The Federation of Jewish Philanthropies has raised $15,150,000 for the 1954-55 fiscal year, with another $100,000 expected by the end of the fiscal year, September 30, Salim L. Lewis, president of the Federation, announced this week-end. More than 100,000 donors contributed.
The Federation supports 116 institutions of all kinds in the metropolitan area. It will have to dip into reserve funds to meet operating expenses, because the receipts of the fund-raising drive will not meet operating expenses of the member institutions, Mr. Lewis reported.
