Two hundred Jewish refugees have been held incommunicado on board the Greek vessel Assima since it was apprehended by the coast guards April 11 while trying to land them illegally, it was learned today. The Jewish community, however, has been permitted to send milk, food and medicine to the passengers while the authorities decide whether to seize the ship, which would involve landing the refugees, or to send it back to sea. Several other vessels which tried to smuggle refugees into Palestine have been turned back after brief detention.
