Three important Jews are among a large number of political internees reported today to have been released by order of the Vichy Government.
Paul-Louis Weiller, former head of the Gnome-et-Rhone airplane motor works, and Marcel Bloch, foremost airplane construction expert, were said to have been freed from the Pellevoisin internment center. Both were arrested last October and Weiller was deprived of his French citizenship and property.
Abraham Schrameck, former Minister of Interior, was also released from Pellevoisin, where he had been under “administrative internment.” He had been a leader in Edouard Herriot’s Radical Socialist Party.
