Herbert Shapiro, nineteen, an American student at the Hebrew University, whose parents live in Middletown, Conn., and two other young Jews were drowned yesterday at Herzlia, when they attempted to rescue Nehemiah Reznik, twenty-eight, who was in danger in deep water and called for help.
Reznick was saved, but the three young Jews were exhausted by their rescue and went under.
Shapiro was working as a laborer during his summer vacation owing to the dearth of workers in Palestine.
