The third serious outbreak of anti-Semitism in Polish cities in less than two months occurred today at Lublin where thirty Jews were seriously injured in a riot started by members of the National Democratic party. The trouble began at a football game between the Christian team Unia and a Jewish team Shtern.
During the game a fight broke out between Jewish and Christian onlookers. The clash rapidly spread from the football field to the city itself, the most serious attacks taking place in Kolotajstrasse. Prompt action by the police, who arrested a number of the anti-Semites, prevented further casualties.
A similar outbreak occurred in Radom on June 15 as the outcome of a football game. Ten Jews were injured and considerable damage was done to Jewish property. A week earlier three Jews were seriously injured in Zloczew in an attack instigated by the National Democratic athletic organization Sokol.
