Some 5000 Jews marched through downtown Buenos Aires to protest the murder of the 11 Israeli Olympians. The march, which blocked traffic for a mile along the main thoroughfare, ended at the Libertad Temple where the mourners filled the square outside the temple after the temple itself was filled with an overflow audience. Jewish-owned stores throughout the city were closed in mourning. Loudspeakers were installed in the square to beam speeches within the synagogue. El Mole Rachmim and Kaddish were chanted for the dead Israelis. Speakers included Nehemias Resnizky, DAIA secretary; Lazaro Rubinson, DAIA chairman; and attending was Israel Ambassador Eliezer Doron.
