Seven witnesses were placed on the stand today to verify Abraham Stavsky’s alibi that he was in Jerusalem on the night of the assassination of Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff, for whose murder Stavsky and Zvi Rosenblatt are now on trial. Aba Achimeier, a third defendant, was freed when the court held the evidence against him insufficient.

Saraha Rechshein, a waitress in the Hasharon restaurant, testified that Stavsky was in the Jerusalem restaurant on the evening of June 16, 1933, between eight and nine o’clock.

Rosa and Chaim Borochoff, aged twelve and sixteen respectively, whose mother is a cook at the restaurant, also testified to seeing Stavsky there at the time mentioned by Miss Rechshein.

Moishe Wrubel, who dined in the restaurant at the same time as Stavsky did, also saw him there he said.

Moishe Mandelbaum and Jacob Friedman, who stayed at the Turgeman Hotel, testified that on the evening in question they saw some one sleeping in Stavsky’s bed, but failed to notice who it was. Mandelbaum, however, stated that early Saturday morning Stavsky asked him for the time. He declared he had recognized Stavsky at once during an identification parade staged by the police.

Abraham Almaliah, member of the executive of the Vaad Leumi, the Jewish National Council of Palestine, testified he saw Achimeier in Jerusalem at six o’clock on Friday afternoon, thus confirming Stavsky’s statement that he was searching for Achimeier.
