Eight of the nineteen men who took entrance examinations for admission to the Jewish Theological Seminary were successful, it was announced yesterday.
The sole acceptable candidate from New York City is Jay I. Goldin. The others who were admitted are:
Irving Ganz, Scranton, Pa.; Sidney S. Guthman, Chicago; Jacob E. Hochman, Chelsea, Mass.; Jacob Hurwitz, Baltimore; Aaron Wise, Cincinnati, and Benjarnin M. Kahn and Saul Krafchinsky, both of Roxbury, Mass.

Dr. Cyrus Adler, president of the seminary, announced at the same time that nine members of the June graduating class have been called to positions. They are:
Rabbi Armond E. Cohen, to Cleveland Jewish Center; Rabbi Benjamin H. Englander, to Shaarei Shomayim Congregation, Philadelphia; Rabbi Max L. Forman, to Brith Achim Congregation, Petersburg, Va.; Rabbi Isaac Klein, to Kodimoh Congregation, Springfield, Mass.; Rabbi Abraham Israelitan, to Neveh Zedek Congregation, Portland, Ore.; Rabbi Louis Katzoff, to Student House, Philadelphia, as student adviser; Rabbi Morris N. Kertzer, to Hillel Foundation, University of Illinois; Rabbi Harry Nelson, to Congregation Rodeph Sholom, Bridgeport, Conn.; and Rabbi Sanders A. Tofield, to Adath Jeshurun Congregation, Houston, Texas.
