A historic wooden synagogue near Moscow was destroyed by fire Tuesday morning in what local Jews say could have been arson. The synagogue in the village of Malachovka, about 40 miles east of Moscow, caught fire early Tuesday and burned down before fire brigades were able to reach the old building, located in one of the village’s narrow streets.
