A human rights group is calling on the mayor of Moscow to take measures to thwart the dissemination of anti-Semitic materials in the Russian capital. The Union of Councils for Jews in the Former Soviet Union sent a letter to Yuri Luzhkov after anti-Semitic leaflets were disseminated at Moscow bus stops on Jan. 7, the Russian Orthodox Christmas.
