A large audience attended a benefit concert held last night at the Free Synagogue of Westchester for the Hadassah Hebrew University Hospital Fund.
The concert received support from Jewish and non-Jewish organizations and individuals, including Mrs. Carrie Chapman Catt, prominent suffragist and peace movement leader.
Mrs. Catt, unable to attend the concert, wrote sponsors as follows:
“I sincerely hope that the people of the United States will help the Jewish organizations of Hadassah to gather funds needed to build a hospital in Palestine, which is their aspiration.
“Palestine already has received enough doctors and nurses to start such a hospital in a superior way. The hospital is needed. Let us help!”
