A Nahal (para-military) settlement in the Raffah district south of Gaza was officially transformed today into the first kibbutz in the region and given the name Soofa (storm). The new settlement, and the four existing moshivim in the Raffah area, will produce greenhouse vegetables, mangos and avocados for export to Europe.
