A Palestinian bomb that blew up at a West Bank checkpoint last week was intended for Haifa. Terrorists captured in connection with the Aug. 11 blast, which killed two Palestinians at Kalandia checkpoint, told interrogators that the bomb had been hidden in a baby carriage in hope of smuggling it into Israel, security sources said Sunday. But the bomber fled the scene and set off the device by remote when it became clear that police had been tipped off to the operation.
