A senior State Department official said the dismantling of the Palestinian terrorist infrastructure “will have to be achieved with whatever means are necessary.” Speaking Wednesday to the House International Relations Committee, William Burns, assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, said he believes the use of force will be necessary to dismantle terrorist groups that target Israel, but that the goal should be to rebuild the Palestinian Authority’s capabilities to reign in terror.
