A Swiss fund for needy Holocaust survivors approved a new round of payments totaling some $1.25 million. The money will go to about 1,600 people, including Jewish survivors in Holland and Sweden. There is now some $13 million remaining in the Holocaust Memorial Fund, which was established in 1997 by Switzerland’s three largest banks amid allegations that the Swiss banks were hoarding the wealth of Holocaust victims.
