Abraham Schwartz, a prominent Jewish leader and the founder and editor of the Jewish Daily Folksblatt, died here yesterday at the age of 61. Born in Hungary, Mr. Schwartz settled in Montevideo before the outbreak of the Second World War and founded the Folksblatt. He was a member of the South American executive of the World Jewish Congress and served as secretary-general of the Montevideo Kehilla. He was also a member of the Central Jewish Committee of Uruguay.
