Adam Loss, editor and director of the French edition of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency Bulletin, was named to the French Legion of Honor. Loss, who is a member of the JTA Board of Directors, retired last spring as director of the United Jewish Welfare Fund (FSJU). He now also heads the French Jewish monthly, L’Arche.
Among others in the New Year’s list of honors is the promotion of Armand Kaplan, former World Jewish Congress political director, to the rank of Officer in the Legion of Honor, and the nominations of Rabbi Samuel Fahmi, chief Jewish prison chaplain, and Jean Levy, a FSJU vice president, to the Legion.
