A joint meeting of the Palestine Executive of the Jewish Agency for Palestine and the Palestine members of the Action Committee of the World Zionist Organization yesterday discussed the Palestine political situation. Another session will be held Wednesday to discuss economic problems.
A resolution was adopted which will be published after it has been edited by a special committee.
Menachem M. Ussishkin, president of the Jewish National Fund, who presided, paid tribute to the Jewish victims in Arab disorders and to the British soldiers and police who have fallen in attempting to maintain peace. He eulogized Nahum Sokolow, Zionist leader who died in London recently.
Moshe Shertok of the Jewish Agency reported on the political situation and outlined the tasks facing the Zionist movement. He is understood to have vigorously criticized the Palestine Government for not taking sufficient protective measures in the present situation.
Representatives of various groups participated in the discussion. It was learned that a heated debate was held on the demand for widening the political department.
