The Alliance Israelite Universelle has cabled Dr. Chaim Weizmann expressing its support and solidarity with the Palestine Jewish community in its fight to continue to build up Palestine despite recent events there.
Expressing itself as “painfully shocked by the tragic events in Palestine,” the Alliance declared that the hopes of thousands of Central and East European Jews for “reintegration in the home guaranteed by the Balfour Declaration are now shattered.”
