University of Wisconsin professor of social work Alfred Kadushin will act as consultant on curriculum development to the Paul Baerwald School of Social work at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem for the academic year 1960-61. it was announced litre today. He will begin his duties in Israel September 1.
The Paul Baerwald School was originally organized by the Joint Distribution Committee in Paris after World War II. Its original purpose was to train Jewish social workers for the jobs of relief and rehabilitation of survivors of Jewish communities throughout Europe. At present, the school has been re-organized as an academic unit of the Hebrew University due to the need for social workers shifting to the State of Israel to which many or the survivors have immigrated. The school is supported jointly by the Hebrew University and the Israeli Ministry of Social Welfare, with some support from the Joint Distribution Committee.
