“American women must choose between a chaotic America and an America where there will be order, peace and plenty for all,” was the keynote of the address given here last night by Mrs. Mary G. Schonberg.
Mrs. Schonberg spoke at the banquet of the thirteenth annual convention of the New York State Conference of the National Council of Jewish Women. The affair was held at the Hotel Onondaga, with more than 500 delegates attending. Mrs. Schonberg is executive secretary of the group.
Miss Bertha Ferndorf of Syracuse, conference chairman, also a former New York State officer, was honored by the delegates for her thirty-eight years of service to the organization. The council voted to present her with a gift of $100, which she will use to aid German Jewish refugees.
Mrs. Schonberg in her speech advised delegates to work for ratification of the child labor amendment, unemployment insurance, minimum wage bills and a greatly reduced working week.
This morning a forum was held under the leadership of Mrs. Resbeeca M. Saligman.
