An Israeli ministerial committee authorized the release of 530 Palestinian prisoners, including members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The committee made the decision based on a list drawn up by the Shin Bet security service, but referred the release of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad men to the government for further debate, reports said.
