A conference to study methods for pursuing the anti-Nazi boycott in this country and means of fighting Hitler propaganda here will open this morning at the Hotel Astor and continue throughout the day with Jewish leaders from many cities outside the country in attendance.
Samuel Untermyer, president of the Jewish World Economic Federation, and guiding figure in the boycott movement, will preside at the conference which will not be open to the public.
Mr. Untermyer will be the guest of honor at a testimonial dinner this evening at which Alfred E. Smith, Bainbridge Colby, James W. Gerard and other prominent personages, Jewish and non-Jewish, will speak. George Gordon Battle, chairman of the dinner committee, will preside at the dinner, which is sponsored by the American League for the Defense of Jewish Rights. Governor Herbert H. Lehman, Senator Royal S. Copeland and scores of leaders in all fields of activity are members of the dinner committee.
