A pamphlet assailing Jewish scientists connected with the Manhattan Project which produced the atom bomb and blaming Jews for the atomic spy activity, is being widely distributed in the Boston area by the Gerald L. K. Smith organization and by other anti-Semitic groups.
The pamphlet, “Atom Treason,” is by Frank Britton, former University of California student, according to a report of the Anti-Defamation League and the Jewish Community Council. Among those to whom the pamphlet is dedicated are Smith, Rep. John Rankin and other anti-Semites.
It charges that a “Jewish-ridden board governing the Atomic Energy Commission for three treasonable years” was responsible for the spy activity. It singled out David Lilienthal, former chairman of the Commission, as its principal target.
