A sentence of four months imprisonment was meted out by the Supreme Court of Leipsig to Fritch, the publisher of the anti-Semitic “Hammer”.
The charge against him was for contempt of court in attacking the decision of the court in the Rathenau murder case.
In his defense, Fritsch quoted from Ford’s edition of the “Protocols of Elders” and contended that his attacks on Jews were justified and that the Jews were responsible for the devaluation of the mark.
The court, however, decided it would be best for the publisher to think over his charges at greater length in the solitude of four months confinement.
