The headquarters of the Vienna Antisemites, where the printing presses turned out the great volume of Antisemitic literature, was demolished, as was also the Vienna Post Office, in the riots during which 126 person were killed and thousands were wounded.
A perusal of the list of casualties shows that less than 3 percent. of the killed and wounded are Jews, who were the accidental victims of the riots.
Notwithstanding the fact that the attack on the buildings was carried out by a Christian mob, Antisemitic newspapers now raise the cry that it was “the work of the Jews”.
Complete quiet prevails in the city today. Authorities give assurance that the riots will not reoccur.
