Ariel Sharon said Israel would “immediately begin to remove unauthorized outposts” in the West Bank. “It is in Israel’s interest not to govern the Palestinians, but for the Palestinians to govern themselves in their own state,” one that would have “territorial continuity,” Israel’s prime minister said at the end of the summit meeting in Aqaba, Jordan.
