Austrian authorities announced today that Nazi persecutees had filed 18,000 applications for restitution from the Austrian State Fund set up as the result of an agreement with world Jewish organizations. Forty-four percent of all claims have been processed, it was stated, and payments to date amount to 51,000,000 schillings.
