Benjamin Schreiber, president of the Agudas Israel and of the Poale Agudas Israel of Austria, was this week-end released from prison where he had been held since last month on charges of violating currency and customs regulations.
Today Mr. Schreiber called a press conference and lashed out at the authorities for the manner in which he had been treated. He charged that he was originally arrested on the basis of documents which were proven to be forged. In addition, he said, two men who testified against him had disappeared when forced to substantiate their charges.
