The progress of Jewish colonization work in Russia, Argentina and Palestine has called forth a movement among the Jewish population in Morocco to settle on the land.
The movement is being sponsored by the Moroccan Jews who received their education in the schools of the Alliance Israelite Universelle. The project was taken up at a meeting of the Association of former pupils of the Alliance schools.
One of the speakers, Mr. Nahon, declared that trade no longer provided a livelihood for Moroccan Jews. The general population of Morocco is now moving towards agriculture. The Jews must do likewise. What Jewish farmers have accomplished in Argentina, Russia and Palestine can be an inspiring example for the Moroccan Jews.
A Jewish trade school is now in existence in Casablanca. Steps are now being taken to organize there a Jewish agricultural school.
The Moroccan Government, It was stated, views the project favorably and is willing to lend it assistance.
