Premier David Ben Gurion received today Randolfo Pacclardi, leader of the small Italian Republican Party, who is completing a study mission to various Middle Eastern capitals at the invitation of Italian Premier Amintore Fanfani.
After the two hour parley, an official characterized the talks as “most cordial.” They dealt with Israel’s position within the Middle East area and her attitude on various regional problems.
The first half of the conference was attended by Foreign Ministry officials, as well as the two principals. Later, however, the conversation continued in privacy. Earlier, the Italian statesman met Israel’s top defense officials, Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Chaim Laskow and director general of the Defense Ministry Shimon Peres.
