The bodies of six Jews killed in the heroic defense of the Warsaw ghetto against the Nazis in April 1943 were today exhumed at ceremonies arranged by the Jewish Socialist Bund. A large crowd attended the ceremonies during which the bodies were laid in a common “soldiers’ grave.”
Representatives of the Polish Army, of various political parties, as well as Dr. Emil Sommerstein, president of the Central Committee of Polish Jews, and Philip Piratin, Communist member of the British Parliament addressed the gathering.
