Boston Jewry will be asked to give $900,000 in the combined drive of the Federated Jewish Charities, the Beth Israel Hospital, Hebrew Free Loan and for other educational and charitable work in the united campaign that will be officially launched next Sunday night at the Copley Plaza Hotel. This amount is the largest amount ever asked of Boston Jewry and represents an effort to unite the leading organizations in the city in one annual drive.
Of the amount raised the Federation and its constituent organizations will require $450,000, the Beth Israel Hospital $350,000 and the balance to be distributed to the other organizations.
A. C. Ratchesky is the president of the united campaign, Louis E. Kirstein is the chairman of the campaign committee, Albert W. Kaffenburgh, Joseph Rudnick, Reuben Gryzmich and Leon Straus, vice chairmen; Max Shoolman, treasurer, James D. Gluntz, assistant treasurer and Judge J. J. Kaplan, secretary. Reuben Gryzmich is the chairman of the banquet committee.
