The question of independence for Transjordan was discussed in the course of normal, informal contacts between American and British officials in Washington and London, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was informed today by the State Department.
The entirely informal character of the discussions was stressed by a Department spokesman, who said that the British kept them informed of the development of negotiations.
